1000 Years Old Plane Tree

The plane tree of Tsagarada is one of the oldest trees in Greece and perhaps Europe. His age, according to foresters, is 1000 years old and is located in the central square of Tsagarada, Agia Paraskevi.

Old arched bridge

The stone-built one-arched bridge of Tsagarada is at the beginning of the village and from there begins the gorge of Mylopotamos. It is the oldest and most well-known bridge of Pelion, with a characteristic arched arch.

Achilopoulios Commercial School

The Achilopoulios Commercial School of Tsagarada was built in 1864 and is a legacy of Sophocles (1854 - 1924) and Evangelos (1833 - 1899) Achilopoulos. We could say that it was a gift of the brothers in their birthplace. The Achillopoulos brothers with the founding of the School laid the foundation for the promotion of secondary specialized vocational training in Tsagarada and the wider region.

Nanopulous School

The Nanopulous School was built with the donation of benefactor Nicholas G. Nanopoulos (1866 - 1927) in the early 20th century, in 1909 as evidenced by the marble inscriptions at the top of the building. At the beginning it operated as an Economic High School and the reason for this was to cover (primary) primary education for all children regardless of their children (boys and girls). Moreover, since 1905 Achillopoulios Commercial School has been operating in order to cover the needs of the secondary education of the time.

Kartalio Primary School

The Kartalio Primary School was built with the donation of benefactor Ioannis Ant. Kartalis (1842-1908) in the second half of the 19th century, in 1870, is a remarkable example of neoclassical architecture as it was built at the end of that century in the wider region of Pelion.

It is an elevated ground floor and is organized on the basis of symmetry axes in both the ground plan and the sides. The ground plan has a flattened P-shape with strong lateral sides having a gable.

Churches and chapels

Here you will find all the churches and chapels that exist in Tsagarada. The "religious tourism" in Tsagarada will inspire you to take part in popular pilgrimages, emotion and devoutness during the great Easter week, or discover some of the most impressive monuments in the village and the surrounding area. You may be surprised and you may find it strange, but Tsagarada is the only village in the entire area of Pelion that brings together 31 churches and chapels.

Many of the churches host every year many ceremonies, especially during the summer season, but for those of you who are looking for something different, unique, memorable, you can choose one of the chapels.
